The Wyoming Medical Center Foundation, established in 1976, is a non-profit, charitable organization directed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our mission is to visibly improve the health of the community with financial and educational support in partnership with Wyoming Medical Center. The Foundation board meets each month on the hospital campus; in addition, numerous standing committees meet monthly or quarterly to oversee Foundation business. As of 2007, Foundation assets were more than $3.3 million.
The Foundation has a long history of raising funds for hospital programs and departments. Past purchases include: two ambulances; new plasma screen for neurosurgery program; two new monitors and an exam table for the Pediatrics Unit; a new pet therapy program for the Rehabilitation Department; chemotherapy nurse education; free mammograms for low-income women; car seats for newborns at the hospital; the fountain in the Washington Street entrance; plants for the courtyard; renovations in the medical library; furniture and furnishings in the Casper Surgical Center; pain management funds for people in need; new equipment for Diabetes Education; bereavement classes via Women's Services for parents who have lost newborns; Pastoral Education support, Advance Cardiac Units for first response vehicles in Natrona County, pediatric car wheelchair, Organ and Tissue Donation Education, Mended Hearts conference fees, and Broselow bags and tapes for help with pediatric emergency patients.
The Board provides vision and guidance to the Executive Director and staff, which includes Fund Development and Communications Specialists, the SAFE KIDS Coordinator, the Bookkeeper/Executive Assistant, and the Cancer Resource/Angels Program Coordinator.
The Foundation is open each weekday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 1139 E. 2nd Street, Casper, Wyoming.
