From the moment you find out you have cancer, you and your families' lives are forever changed. The Community Cancer Resource Center (CCRC) Angels are a volunteer group dedicated to adding a ray of sunshine to the lives of those undergoing treatment for cancer.

We believe that people who are going through the physical, emotional and mental challenges of cancer therapy deserve some pampering and special treatment. Our core group works collaboratively with the Women's Care Coordinator for the CCRC. The team includes staff, physicians and members of the American Cancer Society. The Angels are cancer survivors themselves or those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

We have come to see that many patients have trouble asking for help, especially from friends and family. Our goal is for each newly diagnosed patient to have a team of angels to help them through the difficulties of cancer treatment. Many survivors have shared with us that they wish such a program had been in place when they went through treatment.

Our angels come in many varieties;
• Mentoring angels,
• Food angels,
• Errand angels,
• Chore angels,
• And, beauty and wig angels.

We hope that by offering a newly diagnosed patient a team of volunteers ready to help in very practical ways, they will be able to accept our assistance as an important part of their treatment. The process is easy, an oncology nurse or physician can identify a new patient - inform them about the program, allow them to choose from a menu of desired services, and if wanted, match them with an angel mentor. Once we have the adequate patient information, we can begin meeting their needs.

We also have a specialized Boutique, staffed with friendly professionals who volunteer their time to assist you with your special beauty needs. The Boutique is also located at the center, offering free make-up, skin products, wigs and wig products, prosthesis fitting and other pertinent information.

The Angels Program is housed within the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation office at 1139 East 2nd Street. The Resource Center is a warm and comfortable place provided to give you and your family added information and support while you are in our care.
