	The Foundation undertook a major venture in 2001 when it opened Masterson Place near the hospital. Thanks to a sizable donation from the Masterson family of Casper, the Foundation was able to purchase a Best Western Motel, allowing out-of-town patients and families a comfortable place to stay while receiving specialty medical care in Casper. 	Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death in our young people. We also know that low-income individuals are at greater risk of injury than the rest of the population. To decrease those numbers, the Foundation offers SAFE KIDS of Central Wyoming, which provides leadership for a diverse coalition of community leaders who distribute valuable safety information and safety equipment throughout the entire community. 	Working closely with the Wyoming Quit Tobacco Program and Wyoming Medical Center, the Foundation is able to provide free or low-cost cessation medications, counseling, and education to people who are ready to quit smoking or spit tobacco. [ Read More ]

	Working with the City of Casper and the Natrona County School District, the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation developed a volunteer youth council designed to engage young people in community decision making, and strengthen bonds between young people and their community. [ Read More ]
